Where do I find a technician to repair my hair iron?

My iron is a gift from America. It's called 'Helen of troy'. As soon as I plugged it in, it blew up! Please assist me in finding a technician/company who repairs this. thank you!

The reason your hair iron blew up is because it's meant to work on Amercan voltage: 120 volts. Our voltage is 240/250 volts. You can't repair it. Throw it in the bin and buy one that's for the UK market. Always best to check imported electrical items before plugging them in, lesson learnt, I think.
