ther is nothing coming from the engine. when i pull brakes ther is no lights on anywher. the front lcd panel does not light up neither does the light for the alarm. no life from the starter motor but checked carb and spark plugs and they seem fine i think its just the battery that is dead but until i get a new one im stuck for options
as thers no power going to anywer on the bike, and cannot tell if thers any other problems as yet. the only sound is coming from the throttle wen i turn it and the stepper motor does not reset.

im confused with the sound you here when you have the ignition turned on?there should only be one noise when you turn the ignition on and that is the stepper motor inside the tachometer/rev counter resetting itself it will be a series of small clicks.when you press the start button (with the brakes held in)there should be a click from the starter relay and the starter motor may turn slowly or fast depending on the conditon and charge the battery has, a battery showing 12 volts will not necessarily be able to start a bike if its not delivering the amount of amps needed and a bad battery will be like this. The throttle valve is controlled by you it in in fact a butterfly valve and also there is a c.v diapragm that inflates in the top of the carb when air is drawn into the port in the back of the carb that feeds it and that lifts the throttle slide and jet needle upwards to allow more air in and also more fuel out of the main jet.tell me this, do the brake lights light up when you pull each brake independantly?and are you pulling one in at the same time you are pressing the start button?

nothing from electric start going to get a new battery. ther isnt a kick start on it thats the other problem

becky, March 2010
Batteries naff, change that first then see if there is any life in the bike.

So when you try the electric start then nothing? A battery left for two years will be knacked. You wlll need a new battery.
Have you tried kick start?
You need to check for spark and clean carb as well.
Check for spark- take plug out and pop back in cap. Rest plug on metal part of bike ( earth) and then try to kick it over. get a mate to check for spark.
