Ford Escort Problem?

Hi,

My battery went flat on my escort and since charging it back up my central locking doesnt work the alarm activates and deactivates but doesnt unlock the doors i have also tried the keys (including a master) but doesnt work either

shifter is stuck in park, was stuck two times before but came out both times.

I had similar problem on my f focus I was told that if I press what looks like a rubber stopper on the door lock(the one thats on the car body not the door) six times in 4 seconds this might reset the c locking system it may work for you.
