2001 Yamaha aerox YQ 100 none starting?

Ive bought a 2001 yamaha aerox YQ 100 yesterday, and i cant fingure out what i`m doing wrong, it just wont start at all. It was running when i went to pick it up, the fella i got it off had it running but he was a while getting it out. When i got it home and tryed to start it and it just wont have it, tryed it agen this morning and this evening, still noting, I would be very greatful for any help with common faults or problems that stop them starting, Thanx, Jon.

to me that sounds like one of two things
either the fuel is contaminated with water and making the bike run weak or the carb has a blocked jet.
or the reed valve petal/s have broken this is common on aerox's but usually the 50 cc ones.it usually will start but not take any throttle and just fade away and die then you restart it and it does the same thing.i think its the reed valve the more i think about what you have described.check it out its in the reed block under the inlet manifold that the carb is pushed into .you will have to take the seat bucket out to get to it and i think the inlet manifold is bolted down with some security torx bolts.let me know how you do with it please.

I have the bike on the main centre stand when im trying to start it, it does start now and again but only runs for 5 seconds on idle and just slowly strats to die, but if i apply the choke or a little throttle it cuts out instantly.

Ok,
when you start it.
Turn key- lights on dash should come on
Squeeze brake lever in and press starter at same time
I am guessing there the starter motor is trying to start bike?
Is side stand down? they have a switch on which means the side stand cuts ignition.
Try that and come back.
