My old mower has a clutch pedal which forces an idler pulley against the drive belt. When the clutch is out the belt is slack and should not provide drive but, for some reason, even though the belt is very slack it turns the drive pulley and the mower moves off as soon as a gear is selected. How can I make the belt (new) slip as it should?
