variator spacer?

i've removed front part ov variator with fins on it!all i can see is a little silver washer sitting against the part the belt sit's onto is that washer the part i need to remove or will that jam the belt?help wud be gr8!

adam!my bike is a mbk 50cc & the washer is flat!when u take the part with the fins off its dehind there next to the part the sits on!if that makes any sense!

all depending on what bike we are talking about and also what shape is the washer is it a flat washer or a washer shaped like a mans wedding ring,like a spacer.and is it the outside of the outer variator half or the inside .
