Hello simmiane - You have not provided the model number of your machine. Normally, loss of suction is caused by the filter(s) or the hose being blocked but you say this is not the case. Please call the Vax Customer Careline on 0844 412 8455 with your machine available, and an Advisor will be able to help you with some checks to try and rectify the problem. I am sorry, but we cannot advise on splitting the case etc as this access the electrical parts of the machine. The Vax Careline is open every day, from 8.30am until 6.30pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am until 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Outside of these times please check the website support section which includes videos to demonstrate how to deal with everyday problems such as changing filters and belts and checking for blockages. With best wishes, The Vax Team.
