I have the same exact problem but however much I have rung or been recommended two appliance repair persons they don't repair gas cookers , I've found two in the local paper and their the same ! and all it is; is the therocouple . the oven lights no prob' but when let go of the button for oven it goes out and was advised to contact Leisure themselves for someone to repair but that may turn out costly and there's nothing else wrong with the cooker and it's 7yrs old and don't want to have to buy a new one !

It's either the thermocouple or the actual switch that needs replacing. The thermocouple runs from the burner, up the back, under the surface and into the control. It's simple enough to replace but i guess current regulations require a certified gas fitter. If the actual gas control needs replacing, it's recommended you call in a pro.

I have this problem aswell. What type of tradesman would deal with this problem?

Any ideas?
