ford cargo 0813 air bleeding off when engine stoped?

I have a 1991 ford Cargo 0813 short Wheelbase horse box, When the engine is stoped the air bleeds off within a few minutes (5 mins)
1/ air Builds up ok
2/ Is ok if engine running and pressure steady
Q 1- Is this supposed to happen in this way?
Q 2- If not what would be the problem?

Thanks for addvice, Air was comming from relief valves on tanks so just draind them of sludge and now fine.
But found small leak from fitting going in to Distrabution valve. so now I am trying to sorce pipe and fittings. possibly from Hydrasun In Glasgow.
If anybody has advice on another supplyer it would be great.

1 No its not, and it could get worse, stranding you and ned.

2. Like K said, have a listen for air leaks, could be anywhere from the compressor to brakes. However I'd start at the air tanks, there is a pressure relief valve and if this is not sealing properly (age, debris, corrosion) then you will always be fighting the leak.

Need sorting, I can go back to mine after days and still 8 bar.

can you hear a leak! have a listen at air intake could be leaking through compressor somehow.
