pump gone as it ejected more oil on floor than in bike haha.gary what do you mean by this?is the oil pump leaking?have you tried to undo the oil pump and then turn the engine over to see if the drive for it turns around where the pump was screwed on?you should remove the transmission cover and then the oil pump(leave the pipes on it)then turn the variator with you hand and see if the slotted drive turns while your tunring the crank.ps the oil feed pipemup to the carb is very small bored and the oil pumpis not very fast at pumping oil it does it in small pulses so you will not see it doing it for a while after even getting it going, the pipe will take a fair few minutes to fill with oil before it gets to the carb.but this wont stop it starting i would say the piston will be damaged not just the rings these are alot harder then the piston and so the piston will be damaged if it has been run without oil.also the bore may have some marks up it ,if it has then get and oversized piston and get it rebored.if you dont have anyone near you that does rebores i can give you some numbers i can do them as im trained to but i dont have a boring abr at the shop i work at at the moment but my old place still has one.i taught them to use it !

belt fine, spark fine (blue)............. pump gone as it ejected more oil on floor than in bike haha pipes changed too no splits in old ones but changed just incase , bike turns over on the electric start no probs .......resistance there when u use kick start too ............. bike makes atempt to start but ends up just hissing like built up pressure tried putting fuel in barrel and new spark plug nothing a friend did mention rings may be gone due to lack of oil in first place ???????????

ok,now how do you know the oil pump wasnt working?these pumps are driven off a belt that also drives the water pump and these belts break alot!its not very likley to be the oil pump itself but the drive belt, also if it was running without oil feed i would say you have had a light seizure and this will stop it from starting as it will be low on compression.does the kickstart offer any resistance? and will it start if you kick it hard and fast with the throttle wide open?

take plug out and pop a little fuel down bore. pop plug back in. does it try and start?
check for spark before you do this. Buy a new plug. Pop in HT cap and rest end of plug on engine. try and start as normal. get someone to check for nice blue spark!

thanks bled it through ..................now damn thing wont start seems fuel not getting through cleaned out carb and jets checked fuel pump all ok

any ideas to help son gratefully recieved thank you

You need to bleed the system like you do when you bleed brakes. I would buy a manul from Hayes or borrow one from Libary and then it will show you how.
