my mower has blades but they are blunt what is the best way to sharpen then remove them from the mower or leave in and sharpen?

There is no good way for you to sharpen the cylinder and bottom blade in situe, remove these components and take to your local mower shop, some shops will have cylinder grinding machines which will sharpen the cylinder in situe, but only for certain makes and models

remove the blades, it is a lot easier, but remember you might find the securing bolt very tight so take care.
use grinder if possible but don't get the blade hot.
