at the front of my mower there is only two rolling blocks and it looks like some one has put a metal bar where there should be 4 more rollers what should i do and what is the best type of wood to use? or should i just leave the two rolling bits of wood in and just vanish them?
The reason for only having a roller at either end is so you do not flatten the grass before the cylinder has a chance to cut it, the later rollers are in plastic, so i guess this is an older machine.

some mowers were only fitted with two,go ahead and clean them,also if you use 50% thinners on the first or more coats it will penetrate the wood easier.
