My Car is miss firing?

I have a renault clio sport 182, the exhaust gas monitor warning light has starting flashing. The engine is miss firing at low revs?
Does anyone know what the problem may be?

usually a coil

the exhaust gas monitoring light will come on because the engine is misfiring. a reasonably common fault is HT leads. easy way to check is when it's dark outside. lift bonnet and peek under the alloy inlet manifold where you can just see the HT leads. after time the insulation on lead 1 or 2 breaks up a little and all being well, you'll see little blue sparks of the lead arc-ing out on the engine. you'll need to remove the inlet manifold to slap new leads on but then you can get back to tearing up the local traffic!
