safe to drive?

Ford Mondeo 1998 has a small amt of water (less than 40ml) in the steering fluid container put there by mistake. People have told me that it is safe to drive. Is this true or false.

I think you will find that oil floats on water its less dense- think of oil tanker spillage and oil being skimmed off the sea.

get a large syringe and suck water out of resevoir only do it after car standing over night water floats on oil so can remove then top up with ATF oil

Why not change the fluid anyway? it probably needs doing by now & there's no doubt about dodgy steering.
