Monitor problems?

I have a home built desktop pc, which is running on windows xp. It has just out of the blue decided it doesnt want to work anymore, when i turn it on the lights all show up on the tower unit but nothing appears on the monitor, i have tried different monitors to fix this problem but no luck. It has a ooooooold ge-force graphics card in it (all drivers were working fine) could the graphics card be the problem or is it more sinister???

It's probably the video card. If you have an old one laying around that's compatible then try throwing that in there and see if it'll work. If not try borrowing one from a friend or just buying a really cheap used one, just to try to isolate the problem. It could either be hardware, the card may have overheated and fried itself or it could be drivers, but most likely it's hardware. Other than that, it might be the motherboard but i highly doubt it.
