when i turn on my electric oven the main fuse board trips?

i have just brought an indesit dual fuel range cooker when i went to use my oven for the first time the main fuse board tripped my kitchen has just been rewired all new sockets the works please tell me why this has happened

if the RCD tripped out as soon as you switched it on at the wall then either the oven is connected wrong or it is faulty ie it has a fault to earth. if the MCB tripped out then then you are pulling to much load for the rating of the circuit breaker and probably the cable too. there is a rating plate on the cooker you need to check how much current the cooker will draw and fit suitable cable and protective device to control the cooker. I suggest you get an electrician to check it out.
