Hi
My Tom Tom does this sometimes.
There is a reset button..near to where the dock socket is.
You need to press the small button to reset the unit.
I use a cocktail stick as it is non metalic.
The precise position of the switch..varies between models...but it will show you in the instruction book.
Sometimes..if the internal battery is fully discharged..you have to connect it to the dock in the car or use the mains charger,it will not switch on until there is sufficient power in the internal battery.
I always have a cocktail stick in the car....my Tom Tom
does this for no reason....but after resetting it its usualy ok
Good luck
