if the drum cannot be turned by hand and the machine was getting noisy on spin cycle before belt snapped,it sounds as if you have a bearing problem(something that occurred quite often when the wm series first came out) hotpoint have a 5 year parts warranty and,depending on it's age,the machine should be repaired by them at a minimum cost to you by replacing the entire drum assembly.give the nearest hotpoint service centre a ring before doing "owt" else.
