can I replace a broken garage door cable myself?

A cable on my Henderson up & over garage door has snapped. I have the replacements, but not sure how best to go about it. The door has one main spring running the above the door.

Hi Pete. You will have to take the tension off the overhead spring. If you look at the bar holding the spring. on the end there is a collar with some hexagon grub screws in there is also some holes to insert a small bar. you will have to loosen the grub screws to allow the collar to spin you need 2 bars to wind the tension on and off a bit like a capstone on a ship.dont let it go it will spin fast an release all the tension. when you ve fitted the cable wind some tension back on the spring until the door is easy to lift. hope this helps.
