Hello James - It may be that the thermal cutout has activated, this usually resets after an hour and half, once the machine is unplugged. Does the on/off switch make a distinct click when you press it? If these checks do not work, please call the Vax Customer Careline on 0844 412 8455, with your machine and proof of purchase available, and an Advisor will be able to help you. The Vax Careline is open every day, from 8.30am until 6.30pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am until 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Outside of these times please check the website support section which includes videos to demonstrate how to deal with everyday problems such as changing filters and belts and checking for blockages.
