is the electric motor on the bottom of the carbuerator supposed to get hot onmy murry 14.5 riding lawnmower

Its not a motor, it is an anti fire solinoid, when the ignition is switched off a valve closes off the main jet, the idea is to stop that annoying back fire as the engine stops, it is an electro magnet, so there is going to be some heat from it.
