I have a John Deere LX38 Lawn Mower that is hard to start?

the problem seems to be that the battery alone is not enough to engage the Bendix. Is there a kit that can be installed to boost the power to bypass old cables

Boosting the power may burn the wireing out, i think the problem lies elseware, maybe the auto decompression system in the engine is not working properly.
