Chain saw runs when I pump the ball then dies?

I have a McCulloch 4600 PM320 It had been sitting. And all my fuel lines rotted (4) of them I replaced. 1 from tank to bulb & bulb to carb. Now I have two other ones. 1 that go from bottom of cyclender to top of carb, 2nd goes from top of carb to tank ? I am assuming I have it right. Now it runs as long as I keep pumping the bulb. The diaphram looked good and I didnt notice any air leaks in the fuel lines. I dont know what the problem is ?

Primer bulbs pull fuel from the carb into the bulb and then back into the tank, the short pipe on the bulb is the suction side, so this is from the carb, the longer pipe on the bulb is the pressure side, so this should push fuel from the bulb back into the tank, as you push the bulb in you should see the fuel going back into the tank, as you let go the bulb you should see fuel coming from the carb into the bulb, if not you have somthing connected wrong
