Hotpoint dryer blows non resettable trip?

about 5 yrs old and originally the heating element burned out so I replaced that element along with the two thermostat switches. This ran for 3 months then the over temp trip went so again replaced the trips (bought in pairs). And now again after about 2 months the over temp non resettable trip has gone again.
To get by until I get another trip I just put the low temperature resettable trip in place of the green spot and it runs - I may end up leaving it like this - would there be any real safety issue since both trips are now 106 degrees when they go open. The green spot non reset was 130 degrees. So in my eyes this should be okay or is this very bad ?
