how can I fix my ciggarette lighter In my Peugeot 206 1998 lx diesel 1.9?

could it be the fuse? Or the whole thing? How do I remove plastics around it??? How can I find which fuse it is without a Peugeot 206 manual?

Hi,
I've just fixed the problem - it is the fuse, the fuse panel for the lighter fuse is under the stearing where, use a large flat screw drived to uncrew and remove the panel. You will now see lots of lovely fuses!!! you need a yellow 20A fuse, now theres two ways this fuse can be fitted the F23A way or F23B way - would take too long to explain so simply replace the old ruse with the new one in the place where the original one was. When fitting the fuse make sure you use the tool provided, i got a pack of 20 car fuses from poundland with the tool. Hope this helps! :)

The socket is a standard size - plug in another lighter unit from a friend's car and see if it works - or take your lighter unit to a socket in another car - before worrying about the fuse that supplies it. In a lifetime of driving & smoking I have never had a lighter fuse fail.

If the lighting element has failed you will probably not have to replace the socket - just the bit that gets hot.
