starting problems with my vauxhall vectra?

hi all
My vaxhall vectra has been sitting idle for months I tried to jump start it midd week with jump leads, but before I connected the cars I sprayed the electrics with WD40 to get rid of any moisture.

Once the jump leads were installed all my dash board lights came on. when I tried to start the car all the dash board lights died and I have never been able to get them active again. I have checked all the fuses in the car but they all seem fine.

Is there any fuses in the engine compartment that might have blown ?

the problem is your battery leads are loose it may look like they are on just make sure they are tight and your dash lights wont go out the min you turn the key

It sounds like your starter has gone, but when you say that your dashboard lights dissappear then it is more likely to be your battery. You are not putting enough power into your battery so I would advise charging the battery normally first. All the dashboards lights don't normally blow as they cover most of the fuses. Do remember to top up your battery with distalled water before charging and if it dosen't hold any charge the your battery is knackered, buy a new one and you should be sorted. E-mail me if you have any other problems. trit666@hotmail.com.
