Scantronic 9800 Bell Duration?

I key in timimg function 42 and then 1, to get a 1.5 minutes duration but it keeps on beyond 20 minutes,
Have tried a full re program (removing and replacing the NVM) without sucess

The battery does not go flat as it is floating on the 230v mains. Yes the bell duration is how long it rings following an alarm condition. Its ok for it to ring until manual reset if you are in the house but not suitable if you are away from home.

I forgot, if there is not a 'timer' in the Bell box it will ring until the battery goes flat.
