usb hub will not work on PC?

I recently bought a new usb hub and connected it to my pc usb port.It will not work, however it will work when connected to a friends PC,any suggestions. I am running win hp and have Sp2 installed.

You may have to load the drivers which came along with the harware. OR go to sytem hardware manager and reinstall the drivers for USB
