how do i charge the battery on a 7.5t iveco tector cargo lorry. where do the positive and negative leads connect to.

i think your vehicle will be 24volt, if you remove battery cover you will find that there is a short lead linking one battery to the other,you need the 2 terminals that are NOT LINKED then with a 24v charger connect positive to red/+ and connect negative to black/- .if you only have a 12v charger you will have to charge them individually.

find the vehicle battery is a good place to start,the battery poles will be marked thus (+ equals positive red cable,) the (- equals negative black cable)
check that each of the battery cells water level is just covering the internal cell plates if not add distilled water to raise the level in each cell. (cannot do this on a sealed battery)
connect the red charger lead to the battery positive first then the negative to negative turn on the charger.

over the time of being on charge, a good battery all 6 cells will gas any less 5 etc battery needs replacing the duff cell is causing a 2 volt cell drop
