does the ryobi ss30 idle?

I would like to know is it required to hold the throttle to keep the ss30 running or should it idle without pressing the gas?

Idle??

If mine would just start I would be happy.

I have taken 2 back to Home Depot. The first time I thought it may be just a bad unit. The second time, HD swapped out but would not return my hard earned cash $129+ tax.
All 3 units had the Serial Number Hand Written on them with a perm. marker. Having spoke with the Home Depot Tech guy, he said it appears Ryobi is repackageing rebuilt trimmers and selling at Home Depot for new trimmer prices.
Ryobi dosnt give a fat rats rearend and neither does Home Depot.

Pure Junk. I will never purchase a Ryobi product again.

It should idle with out holding the gas. You will need to have the carb adjusted to correct this. If you understand the carb then it's usually very easy to do. If not...then take it to your local repair shop and they will probably do it for free.
