The floor cleaner works fine and the suction good but when we put it into the upright position to use the wand the suction is still for the brushbar and not he wand.

I had the same problem and found the tube that runs up from the bottom plugged. Take the bottom cover off by the brushbar and you will see a tube this is where I found my problem. Also follow that tube and to the back and diconnest ( mine has a access on the back) Hope this helped.
