My boiler greenstar 40 HE keeps tripping out every evening at around 7.30- 8.30 pm and I can't reboot it untill after 11pm. The fault code is EA. I had 5 visits now from British Gas, a new meter regulator, gas pressure measured etc. The boiler works fine in the morning and in the day but every night it trips out.
Even measured the working gas pressure which is 22mb now when it goes into fault, also tried to confuse the boiler by changing the clock but every night same time it goes into EA and can't reset.
Of course British Gas don't work evenings so the next day when they arrive its working fine. Everything been checked.

I think my problem is electrical, as the boiler trips around same time each night it must be an outside influence. Got good gas pressure now so checked the voltage and it starts to drop around 7pm, I can get down from 242V to 228V and this is when the problem starts. So I did a test this morning by switching every large load appliance on and watched the volts drop at the consumer unit, when we got below 230V the boiler tripped and went in to EA fault, got the volts back up and the boiler starting working once reset.
I then spoke to Worchester technical and whilst my boiler should work with voltage as low as 220V they suggested that parts should now be replaced and hence a new PCB and transformer are now on order.
I hope this works, parts will be fitted Thursday !

Its not the condensate pipe and no longer the gas pressure as I've got a new 32mm main. Might have to call out Worchester as they can plug in a lap top to the boiler to see the problems. Just strange that everynight it trips out but works fine in the mornings and in the day regardless on how its used.
