I have a Dyson DC04. The mains cable going into the switch is broken?

How do I remove the switch to gain access to the mains cables so as I can repair damaged end. The switch appears to be held with something but I can't identify it. Help please!!

i had same problem and googld it and the crazy squirrel site had the answer how to do or if u cant find that jiggle two slim bladed knives either side of yellow on/off switch and pop switch off you will then see a star alankey type screw undo that and your switch housing will lift up and you can then see the switch connections and either cut back wire or test or get new switch hope this is of some help -francis.maher

No, you definitely do need to make the tool. I tried it with a stiff coat hanger, and got the button cap off but I broke the retaining tag off the cap in the process... With hindsight you do need an old/cheap screwdriver bent to a 90' angle to remove the button, as the tag is very sturdy...

There you will get step by step instructions with pictures. It certainly worked for me.
