My Mountfield rv150 has only one speed, very slow?

The rv150 is obviously set to one slow speed and wont rev fast enoughto pick up garden debris only very short clippings. How can I increase the revs sufficiently? My previous M4 would pick up large twigs even small branches after it had chewed them up, very useful.
