ford cargo parking brake problem?

The parking brake on my Ford cargo 0813 is no longer effective when parking on a hill. I,ve looked on the rear drums for an adjustment for wear on the pads but cannot find one. Am I right to assume that the slack can be taken up on the cables , pehaps its down to cable stretch. I hav,nt notice any deteriation in normal breaking . I would appreciate any help

K ,many thanks for your reply. today I took up the slack on the cables by just 1cm, applied the parking brake ,realised I had nothing and found on inspection the nearside cable had sheared inside the drum at a point where the cable seemed very worn, The truck had been standing for some months, I think that yesterday while stopping on a hill the cable finally died but didn,t break completely hence the 50% effective breaking I was experiencing. Does my analysis seem reasonable ??? I,m presently stuck in sw france with the lorry , I,ve ordered today a new cable.

there may be an adjuster accessible through backplate that may have a rubber grommet covering it.with handbrake off, turn adjuster untill brake just binds then turn back untill wheel is free.if this dosn't cure it, spring in park actuator could be broken.
