how can i fix aeg 74620 update washingmachine?

my washing machine keeps stopping in the cycle with about 11 min to go and shows error code ce

The same thing happened to my 86720 yesterday (got stuck with 16 mins to go - then CE code). Luckily I knew what it was because it's happened twice before. It's the motor brushes. I went out this morning and bought new ones (£13.99) from a local independent dealer, and its now working fine again. Though the original brushes lasted 4 or 5 years, the replacements seem to only last 2 years.
It's a fairly easy DIY job - remove the back panel of the washing machine then the 2 bolts that hold the motor. Remove the belt and drop the motor. You should see 2 plastic blocks mounted on the motor with wires connected via spade connectors - the brushes are inside these plastic blocks. Disconnect the wires and remove the 2 screws that hold each block. You should then be able to see the spring loaded carbon brushes poking out from the plastic. The brushes are about 3 or 4cm long when new but when they get down to about 1cm they struggle to maintain contact. Your dealer should either have complete replacement units (about £25 for the pair) or just the carbon bits which you can swap after dismantling the plastic housing.
