the glow plug ligh tends to come on and of as its driven and it loses power when driving also smoking a bit to much any ideas please

If a motor is smoking and losing power with engine management lights coming on, the first thing I would check would be the E.G.R valve,it will be near the inlet manifold or linked to it,sorry haven`t done a Vectra so cant help you as to where it is,but try and remove it and clean and make sure it is nice and free.
