ignition key stuck in 814 mercedes?

my ignition key is stuck in the ignition and wont turn either way, no electrics will work but the battery and park light are on the dashboard

Hi Guys,
Just parked up my 1989 814 Mercedes truck, went to start it five minutes later , but lights up dashboard and then nothing as I turn the key.
No click on the solenoid , just a switch noise coming from the fuse box on the passenger dash.
Any ideas ?

There is a solenoid which permits key release.
If there is insufficient battery voltage to operate this, you wont be able to get the key out. Dont immediately condemn the barrel or key.
Charge batteries to 24v and it should beok.
