my john deere 100 series mower won't start?

I have changed the plugs and fuel filter and it still won't start. If I spray some starter fluid in it, it cranks right up then dies immediatly.

Do these have fuel pumps that can be replaced?

I roll my John Deere over and since have changed the oil, but it will start. It will only run a short time and shut off and flood.

Thanks H man, I'll check that out this weekend and let you know how it goes.

If it has a pump it is usually a vacume system. it will be up by the top of the engine, a vacume pipe will run to the rocker box, or crackcase from the pump the feed pipe will come from the tank, and the feed pipe will run to the carb, if the tank is at the rear of the tractor, or there is no gravity feed from the tank it will have a pump, and inline filter.
