Why am I getting oil in the air filter of my Champion R484?
I have a Champion 40 R484 made in 2006. Last year in September I had it serviced and two cuts later it hibernated in the garage for the winter. On checking now I find that the air filter is sodden with oil from last year. Needless to say my calls to the service engineer - term used in the loosest sense - remain unanswered. Can anyone assist with a pointer to what may be causing it and also where I can obtain a schematic diagram of my machine? I think I will try to repair it myself.
Many thanks to all.
I have same machine. Two days ago bush branch pulled out throttle spring. I repaired but thought would buy new spring. Went to l/mower sales/repair shop was told engine is chinese! Ordered spare so someone is stocking spares and there is a diagram of engine on suppliers site. Have been looking but cant find. Will update if I locate.

To Husqvarna man, thank you very much, I had a sneaky suspicion that it had been overfilled, as it is indeed tipped from the back.
Any idea where I can get a schematic diagram?
Thanks again for your speedy help.

I would say its either over filled with oil, or the machine has been tipped, this will send oil out of the breather and into the filter box, if you need to tip it always tip back on the handles, not on its side.
