The easiest way to check if it is your lead would be to use a sparktester kit. if you dont have or cant get hold of 1 then you can also check if it is giving off a spark by putting a new/working spark plug in the cap and holding the threaded part of the spark plug against an earth point on the mower ie/ crank case, exhaust . pull over the mower. if it isnt sparking and you know the plug is a working one, and if it uses a coil pack to produce the spark then check the gap is correct between the (flywheel) and coil pack. i would have thought that it is most likely to be the coil pack that has broke down over the ht lead itself, unless their is visible damage to it were the electric is being lost? hope this helps
