abs light comes on at 65-70 mph?

I have a 2002 pug 307 hdi 1.4 and recentlt changed front discs and pads . Now when i drive above 65-70 mph light comes on. Wont go off till engine is switched off and then restarted . Then it comes up abs fault but light goes off untill next time i drive over 65-70. Any clues -brakes appear to work ok

If one tyre has higher or lower air pressure, or there is a difference in size or tread depth, it will rotate at a slightly different speed to the others, which can confuse the ABS system, especially at higher speeds.
As you say they are all OK it might be worth visually checking the ABS sensors and reluctor rings ( if applicable, not sure if your car has rings or "magnetic" bearings), make sure you havent knocked one of the sensors out of position slightly.
Check for play in the wheel bearings too, but as this only started to happen after doing the brakes I'd think it unlikely.
If you still cant find the fault you might have to get it plugged in to a diagnostics system.
Best of luck.

i assume so Fred as new tyres were fitted at Christmas and only one wheel off at a time when brakes were was done. As for tyre pressure' s think they are fine as car drives ok.

First off, make sure the tyres are all the same size, have similar tread depth and the tyre presures are all correct.
Did you fit the spare or swap the wheels around when you had them off?
