replacing the drive belt for kenwood fp520

Great. And if the drive belt is broken then this does not work! Why else would you try to replace the belt

Thanks for your help. made the job both easy to follow and carry out. (Drive belt ok, but main shaft bearing noisy - discovered silver plated load washer inserted upside down in original manufacture)

Just to make it clear, when the 2 answers below mention "turning clockwise" they mean that this is not a normal right handed thread. It's a left handed thread, so to separate them you turn the screw and the liquidiser drive in the opposite direction to that which you would expect.

Still stuck? Remove the 5 screws from underside of the base unit with a cross-head screwdriver. Insert flat blade s/driver through slot in base to hold screw in place and turn the plastic liquidiser drive clockwise (you made need to grip it lightly with pliers to do this). Finally prise off the plastic collar at the base of the mixer drive spindle (it's shaped like an inverted cereal bowl). You can now separate the top from the base and access the drive belt. Tip for fitting belt: warm the new belt in hand-hot water for a few minutes; this will soften it slightly and make it easier to fit.
Good luck!

open all screws at bottom. Then put a screwdriver inside the vent at bottom to hold the screw and turn clockwise the bit at top which holds the quidiser and the two will seperate
