Ive had this problem on my Renault Clio also, 3 times infact. Its the scuttle drains underneath the air filter system. They block up and cause the water to come into the car though the air blower system inside the car. Its annoying, and time consuming to fix.

this is a long shot but if you remove the plastic grill where your windscreen wipers are you will be able to see if there is any damage to seals or cracks where water is geting through

thanks for your responce it is definatly rain water leaking in from somewhere in my renault scenic because wen the car is stationary and it has rained heavily the water i have managed to remove has returned again and it smells musty

Are you sure it is plain water? Exactly the same thing happened to me a few years ago (on a different type of car), and it turned out to be a cooked heater matrix. I don't know how the cooling/heating system works on the clio, but one sure way to test is to check the level of coolant in the radiator. If it keeps needing topped up then it may be something to do with the above. You'd probbably smell it in the car if it was the above, though - engine coolant is generally quite a strong smell! This is just an idea, assuming it is not a leaky windscreen or something like that. I guess it could also be a damaged bulkhead seal somwhere. Probbably quite unlikely but perhaps worth checking. Some people who install these fancy sub woofer systems these days need to hard-wire direct on to the battery which means running wires thru the bulkhead. Depnding on how this was done could mean damaging or even removing a seal.

I had the same problem with a Daewoo Nubira a few years ago.
When it rained water dripped under the passenger glovebox since Autoglass replaced a cracked windscreen. I put masking tape around the seal and used a hose. No leaks. Went back to autoglass twice and they tested and said it was not the window seal. I then started checking wiring looms etc but eventually gave up and traded in (a shame as it was a nice car which was basically a better looking Vauxhall).
I did think about using a coloured fluid for tracing the leak but could not think of a solution that would not stain.

Its a long drawn out process but you can tape off winshield and using water hose just wet it and see if the leak goes away if it doesn`t try taping other suspect places till it doesn`t leak and then reseal that area
