Homelite UT20004B spool barely turns?

My homelite UT20004B sat unused for 1 1/2 years. Starts up and runs fine, but spool barely turns, regardless of engine speed. What's up?

Geabox seized, turn by hand left and right until it turns freely,check you do not have grass wound round the gearbox.
