Check brake fluid level,maybe pads are worn or you have a leak

some makers use a specific light for more than one function
so here are some things to check out .
1 hand brake on. check switch not bouncing on
2 low brake fluid level(sloshing round corners)
3 brake pad wear sensor will change to the light being permanently on
