Mailer Daemon - for emails that were sent months/years ago?

I am getting mailer Daemon returns on accounts/e-mails that have not been sent at all recently but from months and months ago? What is happening? I have not had this situation before. Is someone using my email address? I'm concerned that my security on my pc has been comprimised. PC has recently be changed and now operating on Windows 7
