Please dont take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to be smug or patronising, but PLEASE get someone who knows what they are doing to show you how. It is easy once you know how, but it is also easy to wreck your engine if you get it wrong, e.g. putting the oil in the wrong hole, using the wrong grade, type and quality of oil, over-filling by not reading the dipstick correctly (too much oil will blow the internal seals) etc.
Many colleges run ladies only evening classes in basic car maintenance.

There are daft people who put water where the oil should go and oil where the water should go.

Oil usually goes in the top of the engine - there's a filler cap to take off - they are often Yellow plastic (other colours too) - they often have a picture of an oil can on the lid or the word Oil and sometimes both.
