brakes on peugeot?

I have a need to change the rear pads on my 206i Peugeot and removed the old ones ok, on trying to fit new pads I can only get 1 new one in either side, there is not enough room to get the second one in, any idea's please

Piston in caliper does not press in you have to wind it in, some are clockwise and some a/clockwise,sorry dont know about your model
