Flashing display on Hotpoint Ultima?

Hotpoint Ultima WT741/1G has continually flashing display and all indicator lights. it continues to wash to some extent but programmes erratic. Will replacing the PCB solve it or could the problem be elsewhere eg faulty sensor or other wiring?
